SRHR & HIV prevention among youths and market vendors using recorded skits and dramas

Jan 08 2021

The Covid-19 pandemic outbreak and indefinite closure of schools and community gatherings has affected social behavioral change communication through community theatre for SRHR & HIV prevention and improved health among youths in and out of school.

SAIL Uganda decided to substitute the live drama performances to young people out of school with recorded audio drama skits to be aired to 20 selected markets in Rubaga and Kawempe Divisions using public address system to enhance COVID-19 prevention and control, sexual reproductive health rights (SRHR), HIV, and Gender based violence (GBV).

SAIL Uganda will work with Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) as one of the taskforce teams in the country to ensure that communities and more so market vendors who are among those that have been allowed to operate during the lockdown benefit from these recorded skits so that they are empowered with relevant correct and accurate information. This is to enhance and reinforce visibility and continuity of the campaign messages.
